The Biblical Account of Creation is found in Genesis chapter 1. It lists the creation of the heavens and the earth, the plants, annimals, mankind, and all life on earth within six "days" time. Here is the quote from scripture, divided into sections of time periods:

1 Created by the Elohim were the heavens and the earth. 2 Yet the earth became a chaos and vacant, and darkness was on the surface of the submerged chaos. Yet the spirit of the Elohim is vibrating over the surface of the water. (Genesis 1:1-2 CLV)

3 And saying is the Elohim, "Become light!" And it is becoming light. 4 And seeing is the Elohim the light, that it is good. And separating is the Elohim between the light and the darkness. 5 And calling is the Elohim the light "day, and the darkness He calls "night." And coming is it to be evening and coming to be morning, day one. (Genesis 1:3-5 CLV)

6 And saying is the Elohim, "Become shall an atmosphere in the midst of the water, and coming is a separation between water and water. 7 And coming is it to be so. And making is the Elohim the atmosphere. And separating is He between the water which is under the atmosphere and the water which is above the atmosphere. 8 And calling is the Elohim the atmosphere "heavens." And seeing is the Elohim that it is good. And coming is it to be evening and coming to be morning, the second day. (Genesis 1:6-8 CLV)

9 And saying is the Elohim, "Flow together shall the water from under the heavens to one place, and appear shall the dry land." And coming is it to be so. And flowing together is the water under the heavens to one place, and appearing is the dry land. 10 And calling is the Elohim the dry part "land" [or "earth"] and the confluence of the water He calls "seas. "And seeing is the Elohim that it is good. 11 And saying is the Elohim, "Verdant shall become the land with verdure; with herbage seeding seed for its from-kind and for its likeness. and with the fruit tree whose seed is in it yielding fruit for its from-kind on the land." And coming is it to be so. 12 And forth is the land bringing verdure; herbage seeding seed for its from-kind, and for its likeness, and the fruit tree whose seed is in it, yielding fruit for its from-kind, on the land. And seeing is the Elohim that it is good. 13 And coming is it to be evening and coming to be morning, the third day. (Genesis 1:9-13 CLV)

14 And saying is the Elohim, "Become shall luminaries in the atmosphere of the heavens, to give light on the earth, to separate between the day and the night. And they come to be for signs and for appointments, and for days and years. 15 And there come to be luminaries in the atmosphere of the heavens to give light on the earth. And coming is it to be so. 16 And making is the Elohim two great luminaries, the greater luminary for ruling the day, and the smaller luminary for ruling the night, and the stars. 17 And bestowing them is the Elohim in the atmosphere of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule in the day and in the night, and to separate between the light and the darkness. And seeing is the Elohim that it is good. 19 And coming is it to be evening, and coming to be morning, the fourth day. (Genesis 1:14-19 CLV)

20 And saying is the Elohim, "Roam shall the water with the roaming, living soul, and the flyer shall fly over the earth on the face of the atmosphere of the heavens." And coming is it to be so. 21 And creating is the Elohim great monsters and every living moving soul, with which the water roams, for their from-kind, and every winged flyer for its from-kind. And seeing is the Elohim that it is good. 22 And blessing them is the Elohim, saying, "Be fruitful and increase and fill the water of the seas. And the flyer is to be increasing in the earth. 23 And coming is it to be evening and coming to be morning, the fifth day. (Genesis 1:20-23 CLV)

24 And saying is the Elohim, "Bring forth shall the earth the living soul for its from-kind, beast and moving animal and land life for its from-kind. "And coming is it to be so. 25 And making is the Elohim, the land life for its from-kind, and the beast for its from-kind, and every moving animal of the ground for its from-kind. And seeing is the Elohim that it is good. 26 And saying is the Elohim, "Make will We humanity in Our image, and according to Our likeness, and sway shall they over the fish of the sea, and over the flyer of the heavens, and over the beast, and over all land life, and over every moving animal moving on the land. 27 And creating is the Elohim humanity in His image. In the image of the Elohim He creates it. Male and female He creates them. 28 And blessing them is the Elohim. And saying to them is the Elohim, "Be fruitful and increase and fill the earth, and subdue it. And sway over the fish of the sea, and over the flyer of the heavens, and over the beast, and over all the earth, and over all life moving on the land. 29 And saying is the Elohim, "Behold, I give to you all herbage seeding seed, which is on the surface of the entire earth, and every tree which has in it the fruit of a tree seeding seed. For you it is coming to be for food. 30 And for all land life, and for every flyer of the heavens, and for every moving animal on the land, which has in it a living soul, all green herbage is for food. And coming is it to be so. 31 And seeing is the Elohim all that He had made, and, behold, it is very good. And coming is it to be evening and coming to be morning, the sixth day. (Genesis 1:24-31 CLV)

Here we find the six "days" of creation, whether they are literal 24-hour periods of time or longer figurative days. Now let us take a closer look at exactly what is created and when.

On Day One, you have God creating light and separating it from darkness. Day Two, God creates an atmosphere in the "midst of the water," and separates between the waters below and above, calling the latter "heavens." Day Three, God causes the water below the heavens to gather into one place and dry land appears. God then creates the plant life on earth. Day Four, God makes the sun, moon, and stars. Day Five, God creates the birds and fowl of the earth. Day Six, God creates beast, "moving animal," and finally humanity in His own image.

Did God create plants before He created the Sun?

Many skeptics have argued that these six days do not make sense, as God seems to create plants before He creates the Sun, Moon and Stars. Plants need sunlight to thrive and grow, and therefore the Biblical Account of Creation is merely a myth, passed down through the generations. However, if you look closer at what is written, you will see that on the fourth day God creates the Sun, Moon, and Stars for "signs and appointments" (Genesis 1:14). On this day, God arranged the constellations, and set the course of the earth accordingly (for lunar and solar eclipses, etc.). How do we know this? Does not God specifically state in Genesis 1:1 that He created the heavens and the earth. Are not the stars (including the Sun) part of the heavens? Why would God say that He already created something in Genesis 1:1 that He recreates in Genesis 1:14-19? The reference to the Sun, Moon, and Stars on the fourth day of creation in Genesis 1:14-19 speaks of setting the course of them for "signs and appointments," not actually re-creating them.

Furthermore, on Day One, God creates light, separating it from darkness. He then calls the light "day" and the darkness "night." This is an obvious reference to the Sun and Earth, as "day" and "night" only occur with the rotation of the earth relative to the Sun. The Sun was obviously already in existance prior to Day Four.

Were the Six Days of Creation literal 24-Hour Days?

One of the big rifts in Christianity is over the six days of creation. Were they literal days or figurative long periods of time? It would be easy to suppose these days of creation as figurative periods of time. In 2 Peter 3:8, a day with the Lord is considered "a thousand years" and a thousand years as "one day." In Psalms 90:4, we see this trend toward a symbolic thousand year period as a "day." Thus there is a precedent in Scripture for just such a thing.

However, what cannot be reckoned with a figurative day is the fact that God specifically states after each day of creation that there was evening and morning. Evening and morning are mentioned as a description of each day, and do not fit into a figurative day theory. I suppose that it would be easy to read more into the Scriptures other than what it specifically states, but you would have a tough time explaining what exactly the evening and morning represent. A literal six day creation, as well as a literal interpretation of Scripture will be adhered to on this website.

Did Man and Dinosaurs coexist?

There are many types of creatures in the fossil record that are not specifically mentioned within text of Genesis chapter 1, but that does not necessarily exclude them from existance with man. It does not necessarily include them either. The simple fact that dinsoaurs and the like existed within the fossil record means that they existed on Earth at one point in time. Since the only place within Scritpure that life is created on earth is in Genesis chapter 1, dinosaurs being living creatures, it is more than likely that they were included in the creation of life on Earth. It is never a good thing to merely assume, even that the dinosaurs roamed with man, but the fossil evidence, as you will see in other articles, demonstrates that they more than likely did.
